05/02/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European transport industry is urging the Member States and the European Commission “to preserve and strengthen a solid European transport funding instrument within the framework of the future EU budget”, in an open letter published on Wednesday 5 February. According to the 46 signatories, “European coordination of infrastructure across Europe is more crucial than ever”. “It is the only guarantee for safeguarding the smooth functioning of the EU internal market, promoting Europe’s competitiveness and cohesion, and bolstering its resilience and military preparedness”, they argued. They are very concerned about the Commission’s plans to redirect a large part of European transport funding towards single national plans. Read the letter: https://aeur.eu/f/fdf (AD)
