On Friday 31 January, the European Commission announced the launch of a consultation designed to give stakeholders - industry, public authorities, consumers and citizens - the opportunity to give their views on the “urgent actions” that need to be taken to meet the challenges facing the European automotive sector.
Open until Thursday 13 February, the aim of this public consultation is to provide input for the ongoing strategic dialogue on the future of the European automotive industry, which was launched on Thursday 30 January and will run until Wednesday 5 March (see EUROPE 13569/5).
The main discussion points identified by the European Commission relate to innovation, clean energy transition and decarbonisation, competitiveness and resilience, trade relations and a level playing field at international level, as well as streamlining regulation and optimising processes.
