MEP Isabelle Le Callennec criticises closure of fishing in Bay of Biscay

22/01/25 (Agence Europe) – The Bay of Biscay is closed to fishing by EU vessels for a month starting 22 January, and this decision “continues to cause incomprehension, even anger, among fishermen”, stressed MEP Isabelle Le Callennec (EPP, French) on Wednesday 22 January. She spoke to European Commissioner for Fisheries Costas Kadis and told him that the estimated €30 million in lost revenue for the French fleet “will only be partially offset by €20 million, and one wonders...
