European Parliament denounces forthcoming sham presidential election

22/01/25 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 22 January, MEPs called on the European Union to reject and denounce the sham presidential election in Belarus on 26 January, in a joint resolution adopted by 567 votes in favour, 25 against and 66 abstentions. The European Parliament calls on the EU, its Member States and the international community not to recognise the legitimacy of “dictator Aliaksandr Lukashenka” as President after the vote.
