EU “considers taking measures” in response to execution of German naturalised Iranian dissident Jamshid Sharmahd

29/10/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 29 October, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, condemned via X the execution in Iran of German naturalised Iranian dissident Jamshid Sharmahd, described as a “scandal” by the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz. Following his abduction by the Iranian security services in Dubai in 2020, Mr Sharmahd was held in solitary confinement for months and sentenced to death for terrorism in 2023....
