European Commission releases €21.5 million for Asia-Pacific region

On Tuesday 15 October, the European Commission announced a further €21.5 million in humanitarian aid for the Asia-Pacific region, bringing total EU support in 2024 to almost €95 million. This funding will target projects in Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia and Malaysia.

At the same time, the EU has launched a humanitarian airlift to bring supplies to the victims of typhoon ‘Yagi’ (see EUROPE B13487A12). A flight to Laos is scheduled for the coming days.
