06/09/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 5 September, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) launched a new public consultation until 31 October on the future EU-wide network code on ‘demand response’ for electricity consumers. The European Commission approved an ACER framework guideline in March 2023 and subsequently asked the EU Distribution System Operators Entity (DSO Entity) and the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) to draft a proposal for new binding EU rules. ACER received this proposal on 8 May (see EUROPE 13421/24). The agency is therefore now consulting on its own revised draft of the network operators’ proposal. ACER’s final version will be submitted to the European Commission by March 2025. To see the consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/dck (PLD)
