23/07/24 (Agence Europe) – The EU Council has decided to extend the European Union’s CSDP advisory mission in the Central African Republic (EUAM CAR) until 31 October, according to a legal act published in the Official Journal on Tuesday 23 July. The mission’s current mandate expires on 9 August. “It is necessary to extend the mandate of EUAM CAR until 31 October 2024 in order to complete the strategic assessment of the EU’s CSDP military training mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM CAR) and EUAM CAR”, states the EU Council decision. By the same token, the mandate of the head of the mission, José Manuel Marques Dias, has also been extended until 31 October. (CG)
