Ilhan Kyuchyuk succeeds Adrián Vázquez Lázara as Chair of European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs

On Tuesday 23 July, the members of European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) elected their bureau for a two-and-a-half-year term. The only candidate, Ilhan Kyuchyuk (Renew Europe, Bulgarian), was appointed Chair of the committee by acclamation.

Mr Kyuchyuk, who succeeds Adrián Vázquez Lázara (EPP, Spanish), reminded the 25 MEPs of their “common mission” to “ensure” both “the justice” and “stability” of its framework, which they must “refine”. He...
