26/06/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 25 June, the representative of the European spirits industry, SpiritsEUROPE, welcomed the improvements made to spirits labelling during the last five-year term of office. Producers have undertaken to provide information on energy consumption on labels, while also making ingredient lists available via personalised, product-specific electronic labels. According to a report published by spiritsEUROPE, over 70% of the total volume of spirits placed on the EU market are now sold in bottles with energy information on the packaging. At the same time, the proportion of products equipped with QR codes for accessing electronic labels is increasing rapidly, and is expected to reach 70% by the end of 2025. (PC - intern)
