03/05/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 2 May, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) granted a six-month extension requested by the Dutch National Regulatory Authority (NRA), Autoriteit Consument & Markt (ACM), to adopt coordinated decisions with the Norwegian NRA (NVE-RME) on electricity cross-zonal risk hedging opportunities. The ACM submitted this request on 18 February. The Dutch and Norwegian NRAs must indeed adopt coordinated decisions to ensure that the electricity futures market offers adequate hedging opportunities to market players. NVE-RME’s application to extend will be submitted to the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) for a decision, on the basis of a draft from ACER. The ACM has until 19 August to take coordinated decisions with NVE-RME. To see the ACER publication: https://aeur.eu/f/c29 (PLD)
