On Thursday 18 April, the European Commission announced that it had topped up the budget for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions initiative by €10 million to support members of the Ukrainian research community who have been displaced from Ukraine as a result of the war with Russia. The scheme, set up under Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA4Ukraine) and funded under Horizon Europe, supports researchers who have been displaced since the start of the war.
According to the Commission, this extra funding should enable at least 50 additional researchers to continue their research projects in their chosen fields at research institutions in the Member States and countries associated to Horizon Europe. Research topics may also concern issues directly linked to the help provided to Ukraine and its reconstruction.
The next MSCA4Ukraine call is expected to be launched in May 2024, with grants available to selected Ukrainian researchers by early 2025. (Original version in French by Émilie Vanderhulst)
