11/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 11 April, the European Commission awarded the 2023 European Heritage Label to seven sites across the continent, in recognition of their essential role in the history and culture of Europe. The award-winning sites are Cisterscapes – Cistercian Landscapes Connecting Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Slovenia), the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste (Spain), the Our Lord in the Attic Museum (Netherlands), the Royal Toone Theatre (Belgium), the Kalevala (Finland), the Romanian Athenaeum (Romania) and Sant’Anna di Stazzema (Italy). These new winners bring the total number of sites awarded the label to 67. This label encourages the use of digital technologies to promote a broader perspective of European identity and creativity. The winners will be invited to the award ceremony in Antwerp on 17 April 2024. (NP)
