The second meeting between European Parliament and EU Council ended on the evening of Wednesday 6 March with a provisional interinstitutional agreement on the proposal for a regulation on the transfer of criminal proceedings between Member States.
At present, the arrangements for transferring proceedings are fragmented, but the text aims to speed up investigations into cross-border organised crime, thereby improving the efficiency of the administration of justice within the EU.
