Brussels, 08/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 January, the European Commission announced that it had authorised the reintroduction of a Danish State aid scheme known as ‘Flexi-job’, which was initially approved for a ten-year period on 3 April 2002 and was designed to support employees and self-employed workers whose capacity for work is reduced, particularly because of a disability. The aid will reach the employer or self-employed person by means of direct subsidies. The reintroduction includes an increase in the scheme’s budget of around €3.87 billion (or DKK 28.9 billion). The Commission states that the amount of aid is calculated as a percentage of the remuneration provided for in the applicable collective agreements. The scheme will run until 31 December 2030. (EV)
