18/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 December, the European Commission announced that it had approved a change to Italy’s regional aid map until 31 December 2027. The regional map defines the eligible areas and maximum aid intensities for regional investment aid. In the context of the amendment, the non-predefined ‘c’ zones will include a new zone in the Como region, Campione d'Italia, in order to remedy regional disparities. In these areas, the maximum amount of aid granted to large companies can vary between 15% and 25% of eligible investment costs. The Commission stresses that these amounts may be increased by 10 percentage points for investments made by medium-sized businesses and by 20 percentage points for investments made by small businesses for their initial investments, with eligible costs of up to €50 million.
