Spanish Presidency of EU Council and European Parliament agree on future new European rules for digital platform workers

On the morning of Wednesday 13 December, after 12 hours of negotiations, negotiators from the European Parliament and the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU reached an agreement on the Directive on digital platform workers, which is intended to help bogus self-employed workers (5 million people currently affected, according to the Commission, out of a total of 28 million platform workers) to be correctly classified and enjoy the same social rights as employees.
