MEPs want to know whether European Commission intends to give greater prominence to social criteria in public procurement

The European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) wants the European Commission to look into the role of social award criteria in public procurement “to strengthen social rights, good working conditions and inclusive labour markets”, and on Thursday 30 November voted by 33 votes to 1 with 2 abstentions in favour of a draft oral question.
