09/11/23 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 8 November, the European Commission opened a consultation on the criteria, procedures and fees for monitoring crypto-assets. In detail, the Commission wishes to support the EU rules applicable to crypto-asset markets (‘MiCA’ regulation) (see EUROPE 13274/31). Through this consultation, the Commission is seeking views on the criteria for determining whether a token referring to one or more assets - or an e-money token - should be considered material. In addition, the consultation covers supervisory measures relating to powers for a body or authority to restrict or prohibit the sale of crypto-assets or related activities. Part of the consultation also concerns the procedural rules for the imposition of fines by the European Banking Authority. See the consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/9hh (TM)
