09/11/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 9 November, the European Commission announced that it had authorised a €60 million Dutch State aid scheme, notified under the Crisis and Transition Framework (see EUROPE 13138/1), to support companies that have implemented renewable heat production projects in the Netherlands. Specifically, the scheme will support companies in all sectors, except financial, that have implemented renewable heat projects and are facing a lack of financial liquidity due to rising biomass and electricity costs in 2022 and 2023, in the context of Russian military aggression against Ukraine. The aid will take the form of direct grants, awarded no later than 31 December 2023 and not exceeding €2 million per beneficiary. (EV)
