Council gives green light to creation of Joint Undertaking to strengthen Europe’s semiconductor R&I capacity

On Tuesday 25 July, the Council of the European Union approved the creation of the European Chips Joint Undertaking.

At the Agriculture and Fisheries Council, the ministers approved without debate the revision of the regulation (2021/2085) establishing Joint Undertakings under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme with a view to setting up a Joint Undertaking dedicated to semiconductors (Regulation EU/2021/2085).
