European Parliament committee adopts position on use of substances of human origin

The European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) has adopted its position on new rules governing the use of substances of human origin (SoHOs) in the EU.

The report by Nathalie Colin-Oesterlé (EPP, French), which amends the European Commission’s initial proposal, was adopted with 59 votes in favour, 4 against and 4 abstentions. This legislation applies to substances - such as blood and its components (red/white blood cells, plasma), tissues...
