Pesticides and bees, MEPs not enthusiastic about EFSA’s revised risk assessment guidance document

On Tuesday 18 July, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) presented its revised guidance document on assessing the risks of pesticides to bees to members of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI). MEPs gave a cautious welcome to this document, which describes a tiered approach to both estimating pesticide exposure and assessing effects under different scenarios and levels (see EUROPE B13180A5).
