31/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – The EU condemned the (failed) attempt by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to launch a military reconnaissance satellite using military ballistic technology on Wednesday 31 May, in a press release issued by the European Union’s External Action Service (EEAS). “The DPRK’s continued and complete disregard for its obligations under United Nations Security Council resolutions threatens international and regional peace and security”, denounced the EEAS. It reiterated that it is essential that all members of the United Nations, and, in particular, the members of the Security Council, “speak out” and “demonstrate that such actions will never be accepted”. Finally, the EU calls on the DPRK to cease actions likely to increase tensions and to favour dialogue with the main parties. (PLD)
