31/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 31 May, the European Urban Initiative (EUI) launched its second call for proposals, with a budget of €120 million for innovative projects designed to develop and test new solutions to today’s urban challenges. The call looks for projects that trigger true transformation in cities, generate investments and inspire others. Projects must focus on one of the following three priorities: ‘greening cities’, ‘sustainable tourism’ and ‘harnessing talent in shrinking cities’. The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) will finance 80% of the cost of selected projects. Each project can receive up to €5 million. The call is open to all EU cities. Interested applicants are invited to register for the information seminars scheduled in the coming weeks. The deadline for applications is 5 October. (LC)
