03/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – During the mini-plenary session from 31 May to 1 June in Brussels, the European Parliament is due to vote on the draft report by Paolo De Castro (S&D, Italian), which amends the original proposal on geographical indications for agricultural products (see EUROPE 13166/17). For its part, the EU Council is preparing to adopt its negotiating position with the European Parliament on Monday 8 May (see EUROPE 13172/28). The Council and the European Parliament hope to start discussions on the text by June, with a view to reaching a final agreement under the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2023.
