03/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, reacted on Wednesday 3 May to the shooting that left nine people - including eight children - dead earlier in the day at a school in central Belgrade. “I wish - on behalf of all of us - to express our sadness at the tragic shooting in a school in Belgrade this morning, where at least nine people, including eight children, were killed. We want to express our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. This is very sad news”, he said. The European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Olivér Várhelyi, joined in the condolences, lamenting the “terrible news”. (TM)
