03/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 3 May that it had approved the acquisition of joint control of AWB Aluminiumwerk Berlin GmbH (Germany), a company that makes precision-extruded aluminium profiles, by three companies: the holding company Metallinvest (Austria), the holding company RSFB Technologie (Austria) and Schüco International (Germany), a company active in the design, manufacture and sale of building systems for façades made of aluminium, steel and plastic, whose parent company is also active in metal processing. The merger was deemed to be compliant with the Merger Control Regulation (EC/139/2004). The European Commission found that the merger would not raise competition concerns in the market of the extrusion of soft aluminium alloys, in particular because of the combined low market shares of the merging parties in this market.
