06/03/23 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 6 March the European Commission approved a Polish aid package to finance the design and construction of the new seat of the Museum of Polish History in Warsaw. The aid will also support the creation of the museum’s permanent exhibition inside the new headquarters. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The aid will take the form of a direct grant of up to €258.7 million, which corresponds to the total estimated costs for the implementation of the project. The Commission assessed the measure under Article 107(3)(d) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which allows Member States to grant State aid to promote culture and heritage conservation, subject to certain conditions.
