New Director-General for Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations

14/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 14 February, the European Commission decided to appoint Maciej Popowski from Poland as the new Director-General for its Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO). The Directorate coordinates the EU’s response to disasters and humanitarian emergencies through the provision of humanitarian and protection assistance.
