06/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – The EU Council adopted, on Monday 6 February, a series of decisions extending the mandates of three EU Special Representatives (EUSRs). Thus, the mandates of the Dutch Sven Koopmans as EUSR for the Middle East Peace Process and the Finnish Terhi Hakala as EUSR for Central Asia are extended by two years, until 28 February 2025. Mr Koopmans was first appointed on the 1 May 2021 (see EUROPE 12710/28) and Ms Hakala on the 1 July 2021 (see EUROPE 12745/24). The Irish EUSR for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore, has had his mandate extended by one year, until 29 February 2024. He was first appointed on the 1 March 2019 (see EUROPE 12200/29). (CG)
