04/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – A public consultation will be open until Friday 18 November on a draft European Commission Implementing Regulation laying down detailed rules for the identification of unacceptable co-formulants in plant protection products, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 concerning the market authorisation for the placing of pesticides on the market in the EU. A co-formulant - a chemical substance added to pesticides - is unacceptable when it is or has to be classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction in categories 1A or 1B, or when it has been identified as a persistent organic pollutant (POP). The adoption of the implementing regulation is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022. The European Commission wants to collect as many contributions as possible from interested parties by midnight Brussels time on 18 November.
