04/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Union hosted the third meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani border commissions in Brussels on Thursday 3 November. “The EU commends the constructive atmosphere in which the meeting was conducted, and the willingness of the parties to continue working on addressing border-related issues, as well as to improve the security situation”, the European External Action Service said in a statement. The meeting followed agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. In early October, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, had hoped that the border commissions could meet before the end of October. The EU deployed a civilian observer mission along the border (see EUROPE 13044/13). (CG)
