08/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – Contrary to what was erroneously stated in the ‘Animal health’ news item from 25 May 2022 (see EUROPE 12959/37), the European Commission has not said no to a request by several EU agriculture ministers for an EU positive list on keeping pets. The EU Commissioner for Health, Stella Kyriakides, said after the comments by EU agriculture ministers that she would “move forward” to “to gather the scientific evidence, to look at an impact assessment as it has been asked and also looking at the legal framework on the best way to go forward”. She also called on EU countries to exchange best practice in this area. (LC)
