03/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission will address EU fisheries ministers on 13 June on the use of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) resources. Member States are making progress in preparing their programmes and negotiations with the Commission are particularly useful in guiding them towards the best possible use of the fund's resources for the period 2021-2027, explains a Commission note to EU ministers. The main objectives of the EMFAF are to contribute to the European Green Deal and to support the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), the note explains. Strengthening the resilience of the sector has become even more important, given the effects of the war in Ukraine. See note: https://aeur.eu/f/1ya (LC)
