03/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – To date, 500 Ukrainian patients in need of further treatment or urgent medical assistance have been transferred from Ukraine, Moldova and neighbouring EU Member States to European hospitals through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism, the European Commission announced on 3 June. The host countries are currently Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania and Sweden. In a statement, the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, said that “the EU is working 24/7 to coordinate medical evacuations” and “thanks all countries that have made beds available” in their hospitals.
