EUSPA launches platform to provide space data to Ukrainians

The European Commission and the EU Space Programme Agency (EUSPA) announced on Thursday 7 April the launch of a platform to make space data from the Galileo (satellite navigation) and Copernicus (earth observation) programmes freely available to Ukrainians, notably to improve humanitarian action in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

For example, EUSPA aims to mobilise the EU space community to improve humanitarian aid on the ground and, to this end, seeks to link innovative space industries and actors with NGOs and others involved in humanitarian aid in Ukraine.

The applications and solutions published on this platform will cover a wide range of uses, the EU agency says, from supporting NGOs delivering medical products by drones to solutions to support the integration of refugees in EU countries.

EUSPA will organise a webinar for NGOs and innovators on 12 April to make the most of this new platform, the European Commission said in a press release.
