07/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 6 April, EU High Representative Josep Borrell underlined the willingness of the EU and its Member States to further deepen relations between the EU and Georgia, during a meeting with the new Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, in Strasbourg. According to the European External Action Service, the High Representative announced the EU’s readiness to intensify its cooperation with Georgia to strengthen its resilience. Mr Borrell stressed the importance of Georgia to make concrete and rapid progress on key reform priorities, including continuing to tackle domestic political polarisation, reforming the judiciary, and adopting the agreed constitutional reforms. He also underlined the EU’s unwavering commitment to Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. (CG)
