16/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 16 February, the European Parliament approved €3.7 million in aid from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) for 297 redundant Airbus workers in France (see EUROPE 12881/21). The report by Valérie Hayer (Renew Europe, France) on the proposal was adopted with 655 votes in favour, 23 against and 14 abstentions. The EU Council had already validated this aid on 4 February. The total estimated cost of the support measures is €4.4 million and the EGF will cover 85% (€3.7 million) of the amount needed. Airbus will provide the remaining amount (€0.7 million). (LC)
