16/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament decided, with 368 votes in favour, 297 against and 33 abstentions, to object to a delegated regulation of the European Commission on certain provisions of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) concerning the periods and dates of ineligibility for support. NGOs, including Our Fish and Oceana, protested against the rejection of this delegated act which would open the door to EU public money being paid to fishing operators who have committed serious infringements (https://aeur.eu/f/cl ). On the contrary, the European Parliament, in the rejection resolution, considers that the Commission should present less strict rules on the period and dates of application ineligibility. (LC)
