01/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 1 February, the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgets approved (40 votes in favour, 1 against and 0 abstentions) the proposal to provide France with €3.7 million for workers made redundant by Airbus in the country (see EUROPE 12836/29). The aid will be paid under the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF). The MEPs note that the application concerns a total of 508 redundant workers whose activity has ceased and that France expects 297 of the eligible beneficiaries to participate in the measures. The aid will mainly contribute to financing training and business start-up bonuses. The plenary vote is scheduled for the 14-17 February session in Strasbourg. (LC)
