01/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – The EU High Representative, Josep Borrell, underlined on Tuesday 30 November, during a meeting in Brussels with the Ukrainian Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, “the EU’s firm and decisive support for Ukraine in the face of any further aggression against its territorial integrity and sovereignty”. Russian troop movements on the Ukrainian border are causing concern among the international community (see EUROPE 12843/5). According to the EEAS, Mr Borrell noted the EU’s close coordination with key international partners on this issue and highlighted the EU’s ongoing work to help Ukraine strengthen its resilience. He also recalled the need for Ukraine to make use of the opportunities offered by the Association Agreement, in particular in the areas of justice and the Rule of law. The High Representative and the Prime Minister also agreed to hold their next Association Council in March 2022. (CG)
