01/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Member States’ ambassadors to the EU agreed, on Wednesday 1 December, to sanction 11 additional entities and 17 individuals in connection with the situation in Belarus. This fifth package of sanctions is expected to be formally adopted on Thursday. According to Bloomberg, the airline Belavia, the nitrogen fertiliser producer Grodno Azot and oil producer Belarusneft are expected to be sanctioned, as well as Belarusian border service officials and judges. A total of 166 individuals and 15 entities are already subject to sanctions. (CG)
