20/09/2021 (Agence Europe) – Vaccinated travellers will be able to travel to the US from the EU starting in November, the US administration was to announce on Monday 20 September, the Financial Times reported. Until now, even fully vaccinated European tourists have had to give specific reasons for travelling to the US, while vaccinated American tourists are welcome in the EU without restrictions. This will put an end to the ban on the stay of Europeans on US soil imposed in March 2020 by the Trump administration in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Under the current policy, only US citizens, their immediate family members, green card holders and persons with a national interest exemption can travel to the US. These flexibilities apply to other parts of the world, not just the EU. (SP)
