21/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the European Union decided on Monday 21 June to renew the sanctions linked to the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by Russia, for one year, until 23 June 2022. These measures include a ban on imports of products from Crimea and Sevastopol into the EU and on investment in these territories. European cruise ships are prohibited from calling at ports on the peninsula except in emergencies. Exports of certain goods and technology to companies in Crimea or for use in Crimea in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors or for prospecting, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources are also subject to EU restrictions. The sanctions were first introduced in June 2014. (CG)
