Two billion Galileo-enabled smartphones have been sold

16/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European GNSS Agency (GSA) announced, on Wednesday 14 April, that around 2 billion Galileo-enabled smartphones have been sold since the initial launch of the European programme. Galileo has come a long way since its first entry in the world of smartphones with the launch, in July 2016 of AquarisX5 (see EUROPE 11596/29). Today, there are more than 600 models of smartphones and tablets available for users of the European satellite constellation. (PH)
