High Representative Josep Borrell announces eleven senior appointments

The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, announced on Friday 16 April eleven senior appointments to the European External Action Service (EEAS).

On Friday, Helena König became Deputy Secretary General for Economic and Global Affairs at the EEAS. Dutch diplomat Stella Ronner-Grubacic will become the Adviser to the Secretary-General for Gender and Diversity.

Italy’s Corrado Pampaloni became Head of the EU delegation to The Gambia on 1 January. Melita Gabric, a Slovenian national, became the Head of Delegation of the European Union to Canada and Koenraad Cornelis, a Dutch national, became the Head of Delegation of the European Union to Chad, on 1 February.

A month later, Charlotte Adriaen from Denmark became Head of Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan.

On 1 April, Philippe Van Damme from Belgium became Head of Delegation of the European Union to Cameroon and Gautier Mignot from France took the position as Head of Delegation of the European Union to Mexico. Ireland’s Peter Cavendish will be Head of Delegation of the European Union to Trinidad and Tobago as of 16 April 2021.

Denmark’s Lotte Knudsen will take up her post as Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations and other international organisations in Geneva on 16 May 2021 and Romania’s Dan Stoenescu will become Chargé d'Affaires of the Delegation of the European Union to Syria on 1 September.
