16/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 April, the European Commission published a brochure and teaching slides on disinformation for secondary school teachers across the EU. “This toolkit is designed to introduce young people to the phenomenon of disinformation—conveying an understanding of the threats it poses, explaining how pupils can find out more and protect themselves from it, and providing an opportunity to look in more depth at particular examples”, the institution explains. It discusses, among other things, the case of the “anti-vax” movement and the theory linking 5G and coronavirus, and it offers a case study on the QAnon conspiracy theory. It also raises questions such as “how does disinformation work?”and “how to react to disinformation?”. To consult the brochure: https://bit.ly/2OUsCyj (AC)
