30/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – The EPP group in the European Parliament appointed on 30 November its rapporteurs for the Pact on Migration and Asylum (see EUROPE 12566/1). Tomas Tobé from Sweden will be responsible for the report on the Asylum and Migration Management Regulation, which, among other things, organises the new accountability criteria for the Member States and outlines the solidarity mechanism in times of pressure and crisis. Lena Düpont (Germany) will be shadow rapporteur on the new common border procedure for international protection, Karlo Ressler (Croatia) shadow rapporteur on EURODAC, Eliza Vozemberg-Vrionidi (Greece) shadow rapporteur on the crisis solidarity mechanism and Juan Zoido (Spain) shadow rapporteur on the regulation on preliminary checks of nationals of non-Member States at the EU’s external borders, the group said in a statement.
