30/11/2020 (Agence Europe) – Several digital giants have pledged, on Monday 30 November, as part of the French “Tech for Good” initiative led by President Emmanuel Macron, to take their responsibilities to contribute in a fair and equitable manner to the taxation of the countries in which they operate, AFP reported. Tax fairness is one of eight commitments made by more than 75 CEOs of digital companies - including Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, Snapchat and Huawei - in a common, but non-binding manifesto. The signatories also commit to better fight against hate or terrorist content online and to better protect their users’ data. Note that among those absent are Amazon and Apple , who did not sign the manifesto. (MF)
